What This Site Is All About & Why You Should Care

You and I are a sitting ducks, patsies, pawns,  puppets, fish in a barrel and whatever other term that comes to mind when it come to what you see, think you see and don't know about concerning the influences your food has on you and subsequently, your obesity.

And the influences are slow and insidious. And you are none the wiser.  And then one day you wake up with a blown knee or your bladder fails causing to pee all over yourself like it did me.

When I see fat people on the street it first breaks my heart and second, it makes me mad as hell. Why? Because I believe that they have been duped and enabled into their obesity.

THAT’s what I found out when I lost all the weight I did.

You see, at age 53 I lost about 100 Lbs. No fad dieting, no weird exercising (truth be told, none at all). No expensive meal plans. It impressed my doctor so much (he asked me how I did it and then passed along the information to his other patients) and my friends, I ended up writing a book about it “Down And Dirty Weight Loss” (see above Tab). Then my friends started pressing me for details and for help. That resulted in me starting my Lifestyle Consulting service which consists of my 12-week course.

And that's what this web site is all about. Giving you the awareness and tools to make your fight with your obesity a fair one. To arm you with the “behind the scenes” knowledge and the tools to at least give you half a chance ion winning your battle with your obesity.

And that's the fighting chance I strive to give all my students when they take my class, which is what this site is squarely based on.

So of course I had to document, detail and explain what was influencing my weight gain so I could teach it to my class.

And let me tell you, as I started to figure all this out, it made me mad as hell.

Once I started looking into the issue of obesity as it concerned me and what was REALLY GOING ON regarding it’s influence on me, it made me sick! And mad!

And when I realized the impact that the FDA, my doctor, my friends, my family, the food companies, the grocery stores, the restaurants, society and all the rest had on me... and how I had lost control of my own life when it came to my weight... it made me all the more determined to get control of my life back when it came to food.

The class I designed out of all this information is 12 weeks long... twelve meetings where I take my best shot to help people arm themselves with the information I discovered in their battle with their obesity. I don't care what diet you go on, what plan you follow, or how you exercise. What I do care about, and am very passionate and concerned about, is that if you don't have the critical background information I supply, there is a very, very good chance that you will fail... AGAIN.

Everybody is so busy treating the symptom (obesity), no one is addressing the underlying causes and enablers of it (seen and unseen), which is what I do. Not to mention the fact that I'm absolutely convinced from all the research that I've done is that we are actually ADDICTED to the foods we eat. And now (April 2012) we are seeing articles saying that sugar may not only be addictive, but a dangerous chemical as well. Heeeeeeellllllllllloooo!

In other words, how can you battle an enemy that you know little or nothing about? You can't.

And that's why so many of us are failing when it comes to our weight. That's why so many of us look like someone put a hose down our throats and turned on the air... full throttle. And why we have an epidemic of diabetes, cancer, high blood pressure, dementia, urinary incontinence... and everything else the doctors are tying to obesity these days.

And that's what my work is all about. Giving you the awareness and tools to make your fight with your obesity a fair one. To arm you with the knowledge and the tools to at least have half a chance in winning your battle with your obesity. 

And by the way, I don't know about you, but I absolutely RESENT how I feel we've been manipulated and enabled into gaining the weight that we do.

In my not so humble opinion and based on how we have become more and more sedentary, I feel that the food industry, ethically, has no business shoving the kinds of foods they do that are chemically loaded, salt loaded and sugar filled. Legally, of course. And with the FDA's blessing.

But they do, and we’re stuck with it.

As one of my clients said to me, she never really gave food safety and healthiness any thought because if it's in our grocery stores that means that it's safe, right? Uh huh.

And what I have to tell you is that there are factors seen and unseen that you have to deal with in your battle with obesity. I’m here to tell you that there are a number of basic causes that you have to deal with, seen and unseen in your battle. Causes that I’m just about sure no one has specifically sat down with you and laid out on the table for you in one comprehensive package so that you could make some informed decisions.

That’s what I do. 

By arming you with all the critical background I can, you then become much, much better prepared for your weight loss journey... whatever method you choose. I have a few suggestions regarding that as well, but that's for later. 

At the moment, it's treated in a hodgepodge manner, not as a complete picture like I do in my classes.

So consider my information an owner's manual for managing your food consumption in the present form that it’s in.

Because it’s bad enough the added chemicals in our food.  But it’s worse that we are blindly overeating them. Prescriptions require instruction and dosages, but not our food... which is full of chemicals? What’s wrong with this picture?

Once you understand everything that's coming at you (seen and unseen) ) regarding your weight gain, only then will you be able to start to deal with your obesity.

My position on all this is that you didn’t have all the information and are not 100% culpable in all this regarding your obesity. But now you do... And now you are.
